What I'm doing now

This is a now page. Updated January 2025.

Living in Bogota, Colombia. Building with AI every single day.

Current focus

🧠

Brainz Lab

Open Source Observability Platform

Building a complete, AI-native observability suite. Everything from logging to error tracking to APM to alerting. All designed to work together beautifully. All going to be open source.

Why open source? Because the best infrastructure tools should be accessible to everyone. Because I've benefited from open source my entire career. Because building in public makes you build better.

The Brainz Lab suite

15+ products, one vision: give developers the tools to understand their systems without needing a PhD or a massive budget.

Observability

📜 Recall

Structured logging with AI-powered search. Ask questions about your logs in plain English.

🐛 Reflex

Error tracking that actually helps you fix bugs. Groups similar errors, suggests fixes.

💓 Pulse

APM that shows you where time goes. Traces, spans, performance insights.

📊 Flux

Custom metrics and events. Track what matters to your business.

Infrastructure

🔔 Signal

Unified alerting. Slack, PagerDuty, email, webhooks. Smart grouping to reduce noise.

🛡️ Sentinel

Host monitoring. CPU, memory, disk, network. Lightweight Go agent.

🏠 Beacon

Uptime monitoring from multiple locations. Know before your users do.

🔐 Vault

Secrets management. API keys, credentials, env vars. Encrypted at rest with AES-256.

Developer Tools

🎛️ Cortex

Feature flags with percentage rollouts, user targeting, and kill switches.

👁️ Vision

Visual regression testing. Catch UI bugs before your users do. Playwright-powered.

🤖 Synapse

AI development orchestrator. Multi-repo workspaces with autonomous AI agents.

📚 Dendrite

AI-powered documentation. Chat with your codebase, auto-generated docs.

⚙️ Nerve

Background job monitoring. Sidekiq, Solid Queue, and more. Never miss a failed job.

The experiment

Can one person with AI build what used to require a team of 50? I don't know yet, but I'm finding out.

Every line of code in Brainz Lab is written with AI assistance. Claude Code for development. Cursor for exploration. The goal isn't to replace developers but to multiply what one developer can do.

If this works, it changes everything about how software gets built. If it doesn't, I'll have learned a lot and built some useful tools along the way.

Also working on

⚖️ LexPro

Legal case management platform. Helping lawyers manage their practice without the overhead.

In development
📖 Learning to sell

My biggest weakness. Reading, practicing, failing forward. It's uncomfortable but necessary.

Ongoing

Daily habits

Writing code every day Reading (always have a book going) Family time first Podcasts during commute LEGO building for stress relief
